Oakbrook Terrace, Ill. (January 19, 2018)—As it begins its 20th anniversary year and following a record year in 2017, Cawley Commercial Real Estate has announced the appointment of seasoned industry veteran Michael P. McKiernan to Sales Manager, effective immediately. The appointment of McKiernan was made by Daniel Cawley, SIOR, the founder and managing principal of the firm.
“We’re at an exciting time in the ongoing evolution of Cawley Commercial Real Estate,” said Daniel Cawley, the firm’s founder. “With his presence and experience at all levels of commercial real estate brokerage, Mike McKiernan will assist our effort to add new people, help them be better, more productive professionals and, in the process, elevate the performance of the entire firm.”
In this new role, McKiernan, who has held senior-level local, regional and corporate management positions at national brokerage firms, will be responsible for the further growth and expansion of Cawley Commercial Real Estate. This will be emphasized for the recruitment of additional office, industrial and investment-focused brokers, and the hiring and development of new brokers to the firm.
For the last year, McKiernan has served as a consultant to Cawley Commercial Real Estate, focused on coaching individual brokers and brokerage teams on how to be more efficient and productive as they work to serve the needs of their clients.

McKiernan has approximately 30 years of sales management and executive management roles with Grubb & Ellis, Cushman & Wakefield and Avison Young. The roles he served were focused on local, regional and national business operations.

- In one of the largest land transactions of the year, about 143 acres, Cawley Commercial Real Estate represented a joint venture partnership led by Venture One Real Estate in the acquisition of the land parcel in southwest suburban Channahon, Illinois where Venture One is developing Crossroads 55 Business Park. Joshua Hearne, SIOR, Senior Executive Vice President and Principal at Cawley, represented Venture One in the acquisition.
- Andrew Maletich represented both the seller and the buyer in the sale of a 310,775sf warehouse and distribution facility located at 4404 Ann Lurie Pl in Chicago, IL.
- Cawley Commercial Real Estate completed a disposition of two buildings (totaling 607,231 square feet) portfolio in Indianapolis, IN totaling $16.9 million – Timothy E. Gallagher & David Conroy of Cawley Commercial Real Estate represented both a private seller and an UPREIT in this transaction.
- Tony Russo represented a private owner in the $3.5 million sale of a 37,692-square-foot, three-story, multi-tenant office building in Naperville, IL.
